More than a decade later, 90210 is still my fashion inspo.
Even though fashion has predicted a move into a more 'boho' phase, I am still seeing 90's styles kicking around on the streets.
Highwaisted shorts, daisy patterns, double-denims, wayfarers, round-lens sunnies and super hideous print shirts like the one Luke Perry is wearing below, but worn with the sleeves rolled and some skinnies- I can't get enough.
That's why I love Vintage. You can forget what EVERRRRRRRRRRYONE else is wearing. Who cares what the latest Vogue is predicting? Most of the lust list items (prada creepers, the Mulberry Tillie, Miu Miu heels) the majority of us will only be able to afford once we have scrimped and saved, only to slip into our new babies and realise they are out of fashion. Fail.
Enter; VINTAGE.
- Vintage is shitloads cheaper (sometimes you may splurge on an EXTRA special piece)
- It's a million times more unique because you won't bump into the girl at your bus stop wearing the exact same top or meet your friend for coffee and turn up in matching sportsgirl ponchos (no offence sportsgirl; I fucking love you guys!)
- It's eco-friendly! duh.
- and I just like seeing how girls/boys interpret past trends, put their own flavour into it, and stand out amongst the crowd of wannabes that had their outfit styled FOR them instead of BY them.
So, GET INTO IT peeps!
There are a zillion op-shops around Brisbane that are screaming for you to come and donate to them in exchange for some new friends for your wardrobe.
Your money is helping people who need it AND the clothes you find are going to help you from becoming a slave to fashion and stop you from blending in with the masses.
and if your too lazy and not sure that you have the knack for it (which lots of people don't) that's where Love Comes Again enters the picture....
Pop into the online shop, have a looksie at what's on offer, and spend your dollars so that we can keep giving you the vintage fix you desire.
Your personal taste and your wardrobe will thank us for it.
